Here is a quick way reduce the file size of an image from your mobile device:
Find the image you would like to use on your device and then take a screengrab of the display. This will create a smaller version of the file. Save the file to your photos and then retry your upload.
Most modern phones take images that range in size from 10MB – 20 MB. There are multiple ways to reduce your image size whether on your phone or your computer.
If you’re still having trouble uploading your photo, please ensure that the file is under 8 MB and saved in jpg/jpeg format.
On a Mac:
- Open the photo in Preview
- Go to the Tools menu and select Adjust Size.
- When the adjustment window appears, reduce the image dimensions and resolution until the file size is below 8 MB.
On Windows:
- Open the photo in an editing program such as Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
- Click Edit Pictures.
- In the panel that appears (usually on the right), select Compress Pictures.
- Choose Web Pages or another compression option until the file size is under 8 MB.
