The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) has three different applications each with their own course load requirements:

  1. OSAP for Full-time Students - To be considered for OSAP for Full-time Students, you must be enrolled in at least 60% of a full course load (e.g., 9 out of 15 credits or 3 out of 5 courses). If you have a confirmed permanent, persistent or prolonged disability, you must be enrolled in at least 40% of a full course load.
  2. OSAP for Part-time Students - To be considered for OSAP for Part-time Students, you must be enrolled in 20% to 59% of a full course load (e.g., 6 out of 15 credits or 2 out of 5 courses). If you have a confirmed permanent, persistent or prolonged disability and are studying at 40% to 59% of a full course load, you can apply for OSAP for Full-time Students or OSAP for Part-time Students.
  3. OSAP for Micro-credentials - To be considered for OSAP for Micro-credentials, you must be enrolled in a Ministry-approved, quality-assured micro-credential program that is less than 12 weeks in duration.
