I have a new SIN number. How do I update my OSAP account?

If you have been issued a new SIN, you will need to register for a new OSAP account with your new SIN. You will then re-apply for OSAP funding for your desired semester through your new OSAP account.

After you have registered your new OSAP account, you must upload a copy of your old SIN confirmation and new SIN confirmation document to the optional uploads section which can be found in the documentation section of your OSAP application. We will then provide these documents to the Ministry with a request to merge your two OSAP profiles.

Please submit a continuation of interest free status application via your old OSAP account to ensure that your prior term loan repayment are placed on hold and interest free whilst enrolled in full-time studies. To apply you must:

  • Log into your old OSAP account
  • Select "apply for continuation of interest free status"
  • Apply
