To defer a TRU Entrance scholarship or award, students should email awards@tru.ca to ask for the deferral and explain the reason why. Deferrals are determined on a case-by-case basis. For example, a student who is going to a different university will be denied a deferral, but a student wanting to work and save money for a semester or go on an exchange will likely be accepted.

Deferrals for external awards depend on the award. For awards that the external donor sends a cheque to TRU on behalf of the student, the cheque will be deposited into the student account and sit there until the student uses it.  AL 5/26/22
