Housing Arrangement for Non Binary Students

Currently all on-campus housing buildings match roommates based on gender.

Typically if a student identifies as non-binary, the student is contacted by one of our Residence Life Coordinators to discuss how the student wishes to be matched for roommates. If they have a preference to live with either a male or female student we can add them to that pool of incoming residents and they can proceed with the roommate matching process and try to find someone they would like to live with. If they are unsuccessful, or choose to not take part in the roommate matching, we would match them based on the answers to the profile questionnaire (they would have answered this questionnaire as a step in the application process) with someone of the gender of their choice.
