HCA and LPN programs at TRU credit towards the BSN

Students who possess an HCA certificate can utilize this to help increase their chances of getting accepted into the BScN program, mainly as extra credit as a health care credential, however they cannot “ladder”.

Students who have completed their HCA certificate also can be assessed to receive credit towards one nursing course, NURS 1170 Communication and Collaboration, however that is the only additional credit they receive in the program.

There is not a laddering option for the TRU PN program, other than what Michelle mentioned about the communication course. This would be the same for the PN communication course, PNUR 1600.
