A transfer agreement may indicate you will receive credit for transferring a course, but may include a statement like "precludes HIST 301."
This is known as a preclusion and it means that the transferred course may receive general or unassigned credit, but it is not equivalent to the precluded course and cannot be used as a substitute for the precluded course.
If the precluded course is required for your program, the original course will not meet that program requirement and you will have to take the precluded course.
